ONSHORE COMPANY FORMATION
Every company doing business in the UAE is required to have a business license (Trade License).
The license reflects the scope of a company's activities.
Licenses are issued by jurisdiction - either by one of the free zones or onshore.
In Abu Dhabi new onshore licenses are issued for two years and thereafter renewable annually.
A local sponsor or service agent is required for onshore businesses unless the foreign owner meets the requirements of the Foreign Direct Investment Law.
